The YouTube personality is known with establishing a YouTube video genre that focuses on extreme stunts. His main YouTube channel, "MrBeast", is the fifth-most-subscribed on the platform. Donaldson uploaded videos to YouTube when he was 13 years old, and was using the username "MrBeast6000". The channel started by posting Let's Plays and "videos of his estimation of how rich other YouTubers are" content. He became a viral sensation in 2017 with his "Counting to 100,000" video, which was able to receive thousands of views in only the span of a few days. Once his channel took off, Donaldson hired several of his former classmates to assist him in running the rising brand.
